Here's a look at some of our history. The first contest was a Region 11 championship held in July 1976. Carl Herold, Stan Montague, and Paul Sasse were there along with Doug Grey, just to name a few of the notables. There were a number of regionals held there during the eighties. The first National Competition which was held there was the 1989 Sports Class Nationals, which were held there again in 1994. The Standard Class Nationals were held in 1995, and the 15 Meter Nationals competitions were held there in 1998. The Region 11 Championship was held in 2000, consisting of 24 competitors in four different classes - Open, Sports, 15 Meter, and Standard Class. The Open Class and Sports Class Nationals were held in 2001. |
